ConChord 2004

A few snapshots from ConChord 2004 in Woodland Hills, CA

Spied during a trip down a hallway. Those of you who get this one are already laughing, the rest of you... don't worry about it.

These intricately-made paper models were being auctioned off for InterFilk. I was especially impressed with the model of SpaceShip One. Fishy take note.

Friday night, we were graced with a wonderful performance by the musical comedy duo Actual Size.

Steve broke his D string about mid-set, and I happened to have my guitar down there in the room, and offered it to him. He accepted, and seemed quite impressed that it was a Taylor guitar. He spent a good portion of the remainder of the set gushing about the guitar, which made me feel very proud.

In the photo above, you can see his poor abandoned guitar sitting to his left.

The Golds are Martians who are mad as hell and aren't going to take it any more.

ASH Productions does a wonderful concert on Saturday evening. I had a lot of fun playing guitar for them on one song.

Blake and Angelica Hodgetts. Angelica spent a lot of the time videotaping anything she could get the lens on. Can't wait to see what she edits down from all that raw footage.

An aerial shot of Sunday night's Dead Dog filk circle just getting started. Our interfilk guest, John Hall is in the lower left corner, Blake and the girls are in the back, followed by our con chair Nick Smith, and, amazingly, Gerry Tyra! I was so happy to see him surprise us by showing up. We missed you, Gerry!

To Gerry's left are Rilla and Karen of Windbourne, and in the bottom right of the picture are Mary Creasey and Lee Gold.

Angelica does a sketch which includes wonderful portraits of Leslie Fish and Kathleen Sloan. Click a second time on the photo for a closer look.

Panorama picture of the dead dog. Click a second time on the photo to get a closer look. Foreground, left to right: Gerry Tyra, Rilla and Karen from Windbourne, someone whose name I don't know (sorry), Leslie Fish, John and Mary Creasey, Barry and Lee Gold, Kelly Freas (in white), and Kay Shapero. Kathleen Sloan is obscured behind Kay. In the doorway, there is one person who I don't know, someone who I *think* (not sure) is Laura Freas, and John Hall, our Interfilk guest.
