After seeing the drawbridge, Fishy got the idea to go down to the Ballard locks to watch the locks in operation, and see if any fish were going up the salmon ladder.
This is a beautiful area, with a gorgeous park at the lakeside, right next to the massive aquatic locks. Note in this photo the difference in height between the lock on the left, and the lake on the right. The locks lower boats about 16 feet to reach the level of the Pacific ocean.
