Seattle, May 2005
One of the highlights of the museum, for me, was something you didn't see on any sign or program booklet.

The F-4 Phantom was well known for having chronically leaky hydraulic systems. So much so, in fact, that the saying arose, 'If it doesn't leak, it must be empty.'

What I found so amusing was that this Phantom, dead and mothballed for years (decades?) as a museum piece, still leaked enough that the curators have to put plastic wastebaskets under it to catch the dripping fluid.
